Certificate Programme
in Competency Based Workplace Assessment
for Secondary School Teachers

The Department of Business Services & Management of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) offers a Certificate Programme in Competency Based Workplace Assessment for Secondary School Teachers.

With support from the Education Commission's Quality Education Fund and in collaboration with Western Sydney Institute of TAFE NSW Australia, this Certificate Programme aims to train teachers to acquire assessment skills using a holistic competency based approach. 

Objectives

The objectives of this intensive and interactive workshop (two days) is to develop:

  • an understanding of assessment and the factors that influence the planning, conducting and reviewing of assessment;
  • skills in forming judgements about competency and what constitutes appropriate and sufficient evidence; and
  • the ability to critically reflect on the assessment process and to modify it as required.
