The grand opening ceremony of virtual enterprises organized by the Department of Business Administration of IVE (Sha Tin) was held on 8th March, 2002. All year two students of the Diploma in Accountancy at IVE (Sha Tin) participated in this virtual enterprise project. Business partners, guests from accounting bodies, business and government sectors attended the ceremony. The guest of honour, Mr. Teddy Iu, President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Hong Kong), shared his business experience with the audiences.
In the academic year of 2001/02, eight virtual enterprises were formed in Sha Tin campus resembling their business partners in their forms, organization and functions. Four of them engage in servicing industry providing design, information technology consultancy, accounting and transportation services respectively. The others focus on retail and wholesale industries in selling stationary, light bulbs, furniture and convenient goods
