| On 14 May, 2002, Magic Toys VE held its Grand Opening along to coincide with the Commercial Day activities. At 1:30 pm, the School Principal Mr. Ngai made a presentation to a very large audience, including school principals, teachers and students from many neighbouring schools. The students made a presentation of the various tasks undertaken by their Virtual Enterprise. Mrs. Irene Ho of HKNVE who was invited to speak at the occasion, explained to the audience that the VE teaching and learning model embodies all key concepts in the education reform such as whole-person development and integrated learning, and encouraged teachers already engaged in VE learning to spread the concept to neighbouring schools so that all students may benefit. Mr. Kwok of Chart One gave the audience an explanation on how he was involved as a business partner in a students' placement programme with his company. In addition to the operation of a virtual business, students were also engaged in the running of a real business engaged in the selling of stationery. The visitors were invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a most elegant lion dance. Afterwards, visitors were invited to the VE room to appreciate the works of Magic Toys VE. At the end of the day, teachers from several neighbouring schools approached our HKNVE staff to express their interest in setting up VE's. The following are some photos taken during the occasion. | |
