The Trade Fair and Conference were held by the Australian Network of Practice Firms (ANPF) on 24-27 June at Northern Territory University (NTU) in Darwin, Australia.
The HKNVE delegation was 32 members strong, with 22 students and 10 educators. Champions of the VE Competition 2002, ExSpeed Logistics VE of IVE (Tsing Yi ) and Wu, Choy & Lee Accounting VE of Sacred Heart Canossian College of Commerce (SHCCC) represented Hong Kong at the Trade Fair. ExSpeed showcased and marketed its transport and logistics services while Wu, Choy & Lee its taxation, auditing, accounting and corporate administration services. Both firms did very well and won the praise of ANPF officials and facilitators from other countries. Wu, Choy and Lee Accounting VE won the Excellence Award for their outstanding proactive sales approach, attitude, and professional outlook. Congratulations to SHCCC!

Mrs. Annie Lee of SHCCC, Ms. Mitzi Leung, Ms. O. L. Lee, Ms. Elaine Cheng, Ms. Fiona Yu, Ms. Alice Cheng, Ms. W.W. Chu, Mr. K.C. Lam, Mrs. Irene Lau and Mr. Walter Ng of IVE attended both the Trade Fair and the Conference. The Conference was a great success. It provided opportunities to exchange ideas on best practice and share experiences in virtual enterprise education; and to examine avenues for further cooperation. Mitzi Leung shared with the participants the Hong Kong experience in virtual enterprise and took part in a panel discussion with representatives from Japan and Australia on educational collaboration in Pacific Rim countries. Workshops were run on technology, training packages and practical training. The delegates took an active part in the workshops, trading and sharing ideas with other VE facilitators, ANPF officials and Antoine Barnaart, Pro Vice-Chancellor, TAFE and International of NTU.
Our group was invited by the Government of the Northern Territory to a welcome
reception for trade fair participants at Parliament House, where Ms. Leung and
Ms. Lee exchanged ideas on education with the host, the Hon Syd Stirling MLA,
Minister for Employment, Education and Training.
The delegation also met with Graham Simpson of Northern Territory University
and Steve Sjoberg, Principal of Casuarina Senior College, who introduced the
general and vocational education and training system in the Northern Territory.
The Conference was a great success.
