On Thursday December 5, 2002 from 8:00 - 9:00 am (= Wednesday December 4 - from 4:00 - 5:00 pm Pacific Standard time), HKNVE held its first video conference with California Virtual Enterprises during their Fourth California Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair at the Bakersfield Convention Center
Early in the morning, VE students and facilitators from IVE(Morrison Hill) gathered at the VE Room of the Centre of Innovative Learning. Using the Net Meeting software, students from California and Hong Kong exchanged greetings with one another, introduced their VEs, products and services; they even exchanged e-mail addresses. Even though sometimes it was difficult to hear one another clearly, the students were very patient and tried very hard to communicate. One could feel the excitement in the room once our students went on air.
HKNVE would like to thank Joe Chan, Chris Sung and Nelson for their technical
support; and congratulate the VE facilitators, Elaine Wong, Fion Man, Peggy
Chan and Patrick Law; and especially the VE students for a successful video
conference.
In future we look forward to doing more video conferences with overseas and
local networks at trade fairs or conferences, so that more staff and students
can share the festivities and activities.
