Miss Ou Yang Wen Xia, Chief of the Logistics Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic and three lecturers from the department paid a visit to HKNVE on January 22 2003. In order to increase their understanding on the concept of VE and its present development in Hong Kong, a briefing session was conducted. Mr. T. P. Wong, Mrs. Elaine Wong, Dr. Joe Chan, Miss Regina Tam, Miss Peggy Chan and Miss Fion Man from the Department of Business Services and Management (BSM), IVE (Morrison Hill), were invited to join the meeting.
The briefing session started with a warm welcome by Mr. T.P. Wong, Head of BSM, and a self-introduction by teachers and staff on both sides. Mrs. Irene Lau of HKNVE Central Office then provided an in-depth introduction of the roles, functions and services of the HKNVE Central Office to the visitors. This was followed by a demonstration on the features of the Members' Area, on-line registration process, the e-trading and e-banking systems by Mr. Chris Sung. Two videos, one containing the interview of Mrs. Mitzi Leung by the Radio Television Hong Kong and another one with the highlights of HKNVE's past events, were also shown. During the meeting, teachers from both sides had lot of constructive exchange of ideas, experience sharing and discussion on the application and adoption of VE in teaching and learning. The visitors were very impressed by the VE teaching and learning model and raised many questions.
Following the meeting, Mr. T. P. Wong guided the visitors around the BSM Department and the Centre of Innovative Learning.
