2. Presentation Format:
Each team will be given 20 minutes with time allocation as follow:

Use either Chinese or English in the presentation.
4. Equipment Available:
A notebook computer with MS Office installed will be available for the finalists. However, Internet service will NOT be accessible. You are advised to save the PowerPoint slides in a CD-R or a diskette.
5. Arrival Time:
Finalists should arrive the venue 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of your presentation. You will be given 5 minutes for setting up before the presentation starts.
6. Audience:
Your facilitators are welcome to sit in as audience for your presentation.

Finalists can leave after presentation. Results will be announced on our website within two weeks after the Presentation Day. Winners will be notified in person.

Due to the recent SARS outbreak, the suspension of classes and the subsequent arrangement of make-up classes, HKNVE will postpone the Presentation Day for the Hong Kong Network of Virtual Enterprises Competition 2003 to a later date. Details will be announced on our website as soon as possible.
The list of finalists will be announced on our website in late April or early May. Finalists will also be notified in person. Please visit our website regularly to keep you updated on the latest information.
Thank you for your continued support to the Hong Kong Network of Virtual Enterprises Competition 2003. We have received a total of 24 entries, 15 are from Division A (Postsecondary level or equivalent) and 9 from Division B (Secondary level and Commercial College).
This year, the entries are of very high quality. We believe that the competition will be very keen. The first round of judging has started on 2 April 2003. We are honoured to have Mr. Alfred Koo, Deputy Head, Teaching and Learning Development, Teaching and Learning Centre of the Vocational Training Council, assess all the entries and select 5 finalists from each Division. Results will be announced on our website in mid-April and finalists will be notified in person.
The 10 finalists will be participating in the Presentation Day, to be held on 26 April 2003 (Sat) at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill). It is our great honour to have invited the following judges, who will be assessing finalists' presentation and business plans on the Presentation Day.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Further to the announcement of the Education and Manpower Bureau yesterday on the suspension of classes from Saturday, 29 March to Sunday, 6 April, we have received enquiries with regard to the deadline of the Hong Kong Network of Virtual Enterprises Competition 2003.
Please note that the deadline for submission of work by participating VEs remains unchanged on 31 March 2003 (Mon) before 5:30pm, so as to provide sufficient time for judging. However, if you have difficulties meeting the deadline, HKNVE will also accept late submissions. But please enclose a short note explaining the reason of the delay.

Enrollment Form Submission Form Reminder
Objective:
Following the success of the Competition in 2002, the Hong Kong Network of Virtual
Enterprises (HKNVE) will conduct a competition for the virtual enterprises registered
with the Network in the spring of 2003.
The competition comprises FOUR components:

| Company Brochure | one A4-size brochure (on one or both sides) introducing company background, range of products/scope of services and etc; |
| Oral Presentation | Short-listed finalists will be required to do a 20-minute Oral Presentation on the Business Plan using PowerPoint (15 minutes presentation with maximum 15 PowerPoint slides, and 5 minutes for answering questions raised by the Panel of Judges) |
Participating VEs may enroll in one of the following divisions:

Judging Criteria:
Each participating team must make the following THREE submissions.
All submitted work should be in either English or Chinese.

Oral Presentation:
Five finalists in each Division, with highest score gained in the first round
of judging, will be short-listed. Finalists will be required to present their
business plans to the Panel of Judges on the Presentation Day to be held in
April 2003. Assessment will be based on the following criteria:

Eligibility for Entry:
This competition is open to all Virtual Enterprises that have
registered with the Hong Kong Network of Virtual Enterprises (HKNVE) on or before
30 January 2003.
Panel of Judges:
The Panel of Judges will comprise business and teaching professionals,
to be announced at a later date.
Sponsored by:
The Rotary Club of Hong Kong - $30,000 Travel Scholarship to
the Overall Champion Team of each Division for participation in an overseas
international VE trade fair in June/July 2003. Three or four members of the
Overall Champion team of each division will be selected by their VE facilitators
to represent their VEs in the overseas trade fair. The use of the travel scholarship
of $30,000 for each division is solely for the overseas trade fair and cannot
be used to pay for any other expenses;
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council ¡V all trophies for
winners in the two Divisions
Awards:
Each Division will have six awards as follows:

The Best Business Plan, the Best Website and the Best Company Brochure will be awarded in the first round of judging. Overall Champion, Overall First Runner-up and Overall Second Runner-up will be awarded in the second round of judging. Selection of the overall winners in the second round will be based on the written business plan and performance in the oral presentation. Details to be announced in due course.
Certificate of Recognition:
Each team member of the VEs that have participated in the Competition
will be given a Certificate of Recognition.
