Sharing Session with the HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School

HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School, a new network member since January 2003, paid a visit to HKNVE on 10 Feb 2003. The VE facilitators, Mr. Mak Ting and Mr. Yung Kin Fai, together with sixteen F.6 students from the Commerce Stream, attended a briefing and sharing session at the Virtual Enterprise Office in IVE (Morrison Hill).

The sharing session began with a warm welcome by Mrs. Irene Lau from the HKNVE Central Office, Mrs. Elaine Wong and Ms. Fiona Yu from the BSM Department. Visitors were impressed by the well-equipped Virtual Enterprise Office and high quality posters, product/service catalogues and business plans produced by IVE students. They also showed a great interest in knowing more on how to operate a VE. Mrs. Elaine Wong briefly explained the mechanism of VE in the IVE campuses, where VE constitutes one of the modules in the formal curriculum with an emphasis on self-learning.

In order to share more VE experiences with the visitors, the Blue Moon Cafe VE from IVE (Morrison Hill), the facilitator of which being Ms. Fiona Yu, gave an interesting presentation on their VE. They began with an introduction on their company profile, followed by brief explanation of their products and services, marketing strategies and future development. The visitors raised many questions on the business plan of the Cafe and the difficulties that they had come across. The Q&A session reflected the studentsˇ¦ understanding on business and their eagerness to learn.

After the presentation, Mr. Chris Sung from the HKNVE Central Office introduced the features of the HKNVE website, e-Banking System and on-line trading. Lastly, Mr. Mak and Mr. Yung shared their experience as facilitators with Mrs. Elaine Wong and Ms. Fiona Yu. The sharing session ended on the note that students from the HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School are eager to experience the adventure of Virtual Enterprises.

Four "employees" of the Blue Moon Cafe VE introduced their VE to the visitors. Facilitators and students from the HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School attending the sharing session in the Virtual Enterprise Office.
