Training Session for VE facilitators

On 13 September, 2001, HKNVE received twenty two teachers from five IVE sister campuses who came to Tsing Yi to attend a training session for VE facilitators. We were honoured to have Ringo Chan, Regina Tam, Fiona Yu and Elaine Cheng of Morrison Hill, Suzanna Hui, Amy Lam, Grace Chu, Danny Poon, Wilson Ng, Herman Man and Ms YK Mak of Tuen Mun, CS Lau, WK Chan, Ms LK Chan, Ricky Cheng and Ophelia Ho of Shatin, Alice Cheng of Kwun Tong, Cindy Yuen, YK Wong, Clara Leung, WK Tam and Stephen Tam of Kwai Chung.

They were first greeted by Miss Judy Ng, Senior Lecturer of BSM - TY, and academic leader in the VE teaching and learning model. Judy gave a detailed explanation of the VE curriculum and assessment currently used by VE facilitators at the BSM Dept., and showed how easily the curriculum and assessment can be modified to suit the needs of different programmes taught at the respective departments of IVE sister campuses. Then, Irene Ho, Project Manager of HKNVE demonstrated to the audience the HKNVE website which contains a wealth of information and resources for both facilitators and students. Finally, Dr. Joe Chan, our technical expert in computer programming displayed the e-banking system which allows VE's to open corporate or individual accounts, and to perform on-line trading with other VE's. Joe explained that a new and professionally developed e-banking system, along with a new web platform will be unveiled in early November.

After the training session ended, Irene led the visitors for a visit to the Model Office of HKNVE, housed within the Centre for Enterprise Education and Development (CEED). Peter WK Chan of Shatin took the opportunity to capture a group photo taken in front of the CEED.
